Markus Büscher, born in 1969 in Bad Salzuflen, East Westphalia, father of 2 children, is an entrepreneur with excellent expertise in the retail, service and manufacturing sectors. He is a strong generalist with more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, finance and controlling. 

Training, studies and professional career:

After graduating from high school and completing his compulsory military service, Markus Büscher began his business studies at the International Business School (IBS) Lippstadt/Malente. After successfully passing his exams in 1992, he decided to continue his studies at Southern Illinios University at Edwardsville (SIUE) in the USA.

During this time, he was able to gain his first academic work experience as part of an assistantship in the marketing faculty.  Markus Büscher passed his exams with a focus on corporate finance and was awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1993. He is still a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma alumni network in the USA.

Special milestones in the career of Antje Egbert:

EK/servicegroup eG
Back in Germany, he began his professional career in 1994 as Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer at EK/servicegroup eG in Bielefeld. Three years later, he was given power of attorney and responsibility for finance and controlling.

E/D/E Einkaufsbüro Deutscher Eisenhändler GmbH

This period also saw the founding of ZEUS Zentrale für Einkauf und Service GmbH, a joint venture between EK/servicegroup eG and E/D/E Einkaufsbüro Deutscher Eisenhändler GmbH in Wuppertal, for which Markus Büscher was appointed project manager.
In 2003, hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG was integrated into ZEUS as an additional shareholder and operational integration into the parent company's processes was transferred to him.

sale & service GmbH
In 2002, Markus Büscher changed his area of responsibility and became Managing Director of Purchasing, Marketing & Sales at sale & service GmbH, a subsidiary of EK/servicegroup eG.

DECOR-UNION
In 2009, he left Bielefeld and succeeded the company founder as Managing Director and Spokesman of the Management Board at DECOR-UNION Einkauf und Service GmbH. His successful work in the home textiles industry led to new challenges.

Schlau brothers group of companies
In 2013, the move to the Brüder Schlau group of companies in Porta Westfalica followed. As a member of the management team, Markus Büscher took over responsibility for the retail business with around 200 Hammer locations and approx. 5,000 employees in Germany. The integration and dovetailing of digital purchasing processes with brick-and-mortar retail, including the company's own craft services, was massively expanded.

KKC Koffer GmbH
After 25 years of working in retail, he decided on a complete reorientation. After a stopover as Managing Director in a mechanical and plant engineering company in Gütersloh, he became a partner in KKC Koffer GmbH at the beginning of 2024 and shares the management responsibilities with Martin Chalupa.
